Homicide investigation underway after man found fatally stabbed in Pismo Beach, police say

The Pismo Beach Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after a man was allegedly fatally stabbed Wednesday night.

According to a news release Friday, police responded to a residence on the 1200 block of Price Street on Wednesday night for a report of an unresponsive male. The man was found to have a fatal stab wound, police said.

He was declared dead at the scene.

According to the release, officers quickly identified a suspect, who fled to the Ventura area and later attempted suicide.

As of Friday, the suspect was hospitalized in the Ventura area and under the supervision of Pismo Beach officers, the release said.

Because the investigation into the incident was ongoing, police said they were not releasing the names of those involved at this time.
