An Arroyo Grande man was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly attacking a woman he was living with, forcing her to flee with three of her children.

According to a news release from the Arroyo Grande Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Elm Street at 10:06 a.m. for a report of domestic violence in a motorhome parked nearby.

The responding officers made contact with a woman who had been staying in the motorhome with Kyle Cullen, 19, and the woman’s four young children.

Police said Cullen physically attacked the woman during an argument. She then fled with three of her children to a local business, but was unable to evacuate her baby, the release said.

Officers then made contact with Cullen at the home and he was placed under arrest on suspicion of charges of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and willful harm or injury to a child.

Child Welfare Services was notified and responded to the scene to assist with the children, the release said.

As of Wednesday, Cullen was still in custody at the San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $100,000, according to the SLO County Sheriff’s Office Who’s in Custody website.
