Paso Robles woman arrested after allegedly threatening man with knife, trying to slash tires
Paso Robles police arrested a woman who threatened at least one person with a knife and attempted to slash the tires on a vehicle Thursday night.
Police were dispatched at 6:13 p.m. to the Blue Oak apartment complex on 710 Experimental Station Road after a report was made that Rachel Brannies, 32 of Paso Robles, was threatening residents with a knife, according to officer Jeremy Petlachi.
Once there, police contacted a man who Brannies had allegedly swiped at with her knife and attempted to slash his tires, according to Petlachi
Brannies fled to her residence in the complex prior to the arrival of police and then refused to leave, Petlachi said.
Police then negotiated with Brannies to leave her residence and eventually she was taken into custody at 7:18 p.m., Petlachi said.
Brannies also caused “substantial damage to a vehicle in the complex,” Petlachi said.
Brannies was booked into San Luis Obispo County jail on suspicion of charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism, according to Petlachi.
As of Friday at 11:45 a.m., she was still in custody, with bail set at $25,000, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office’s Who’s in Custody page.
