SLO man arrested after cops allegedly find ‘several hundred videos’ of child porn on phone
The San Luis Obispo Police Department arrested a 25-year-old man after allegedly find “several hundred videos” of child pornography on his phone.
Officers responded to reports of a disorderly subject at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Osos Street in San Luis Obispo on Nov. 11, the San Luis Obispo Police Department said in a news release Thursday.
During the call, officers discovered that Shahda Atieea was “involved in a domestic violence incident with a (woman) inside his apartment,” police said, and determined that he was “the primary aggressor.”
Atieea was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence and held at San Luis Obispo County Jail before being released, according to police.
“During the initial investigation, officers discovered Atieea had video recorded himself and the victim engaged sexual activity with his cell phone without her knowledge,” police said in Thursday’s release.
After obtaining a search warrant to search Atieea’s cell phone for evidence, police found “several hundred videos of child pornography,” the release said.
Police arrested Atieea on suspicion of possession of child pornography on Dec. 14, the release said.
Additional electronic devices were seized from Atieea’s residence after police obtained a search warrant, the release said.
As of Thursday, Atieea was being held in jail custody in lieu of $150,000 bail on suspicion of felony possession of material depicting sexual conduct of a child, felony possession of matter depicting a minor engaging in sexual conduct, felony domestic violence and a misdemeanor count of invasion of privacy, the release said.
