SLO women’s gym identifies its owner as target of hidden camera investigation
The women-only gym where a hidden camera was discovered in a bathroom this week named its owner as the target of the investigation in a statement that was released Wednesday night — and then deleted by Thursday morning.
In the Instragram post, CCC Fitness, which bills itself as “24-hour gym for females,” indicated that the allegations were made against owner Cole Corrigan, who “has helped over 1,000 women transform their bodies and minds over the last 13 years”, according to the bio on his website.
The camera was found hidden Tuesday in the restroom of 81 Higuera St. — the address of the gym — according to a news release from the San Luis Obispo Police Department. Little information about the incident has been disclosed since.
Corrigan appears to have opened CCC Fitness in June 2021.
The gym offers personal training, group classes, massage therapy, meal plans, a sauna and cold plunge.
According to its website, the gym has three male personal trainers on staff including Corrigan, as well as one female personal trainer.
The gym does appear to have more male and female employees posted on its Instagram.
CCC Fitness said it was “committed to creating a safe and welcoming community for all of its clients,” the gym said in a now-deleted Instagram post around 8 p.m.
“We take the allegations against Cole Corrigan seriously and will conduct an investigation and cooperate with law enforcement,” the post said.
The post added Corrigan will also suspend his role as a personal trainer and not be on site at the gym during business hours.
“CCC Fitness is more than one individual and these allegations are an exception and not the norm,” the post said. “The business and it’s (sic) staff will continue to promote a safe and empowering environment.”
CCC Fitness has not responded to The Tribune’s requests for comment as of Thursday morning. The only employee The Tribune has reached declined to be interviewed.
It is unclear when the gym deleted the Instagram statement.
The Police Department told The Tribune it did not have additional information to release Thursday morning.
