The San Luis Obispo Police Department placed San Luis Obispo High School under lockdown around midday Wednesday during a search for a wanted subject.

The lockdown was put in place “as a precaution” while officers “apprehended a wanted subject in the immediate area,” the department said on Twitter.

The lockdown was put in place at 12:08 p.m., but it had been lifted as of 12:55 p.m.

There was no threat to the community, SLO police tweeted.

Around 12:36 p.m., emergency dispatchers reported a subject was in custody.
