A 1996 home video released by the Monterey County Courthouse, shows convicted murderer Paul Flores being questioned by Karen Hall (off camera) on the disappearance of Kristin Smart. Smart disappeared in May 1996. Prosecutors argue that Paul “hung his head in shame” in response to Hall’s question, but Flores’ defense claims he simply just didn’t answer the question. Flores was convicted of Smart’s murder 26 years later on Oct. 18, 2022.
