The Pismo Beach Police Department arrested two men for possession of “44.15g of suspected fentanyl, several pre-measured bags of suspected methamphetamine and other items associated with drug sales,” police said in a news release.

The Pismo Beach Police Department arrested three people after finding fentanyl and methamphetamine found during a traffic stop on Thursday afternoon, according to the agency.

Officers stopped the vehicle, a KIA sedan, when they saw “two men dangling precariously out both sides holding up an unsecured TV on top of the roof,” the agency wrote Friday in a Facebook post.

A woman was driving the sedan through a parking lot at the corner of Fifth Street and Five Cities Drive at around 1 p.m. Thursday while the men held on to the 75-inch flat-screen television, Pismo Beach police Cpl. Chris Siglin said, adding that the men weren’t wearing seat belts.

During the traffic stop in the parking lot, which is shared by Motel 6 and Denny’s restaurant, the car’s occupants told the officers that they had narcotics inside, Siglin said, permitting police to search the sedan without a warrant.

Officers found a lock box that contained 44.15 grams of suspected fentanyl in the car, the Facebook post said.

Also discovered were six pre-measured bags of suspected methamphetamine containing amounts ranging from 2.03 to 4.32 grams, plus drug-related paraphernalia including two methamphetamine pipes, according to a picture posted by the agency.

Siglin did not release the names of the vehicle’s occupants but said they live in the area and have mailing addresses in San Luis Obispo County and Kern County.

All three were arrested on suspicion of charges of possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, Siglin said.

Two of the people were released with citations to appear in court at a later date, Siglin said.

Officers charged the third person with a felony related to the sale of methamphetamine and fentanyl, and booked them into SLO County Jail, Siglin said.
