Police warn residents of late-night prowlers in neighborhood near Cal Poly
The San Luis Obispo Police Department is warning of prowlers in the late night and early morning near Cal Poly, the department announced in a tweet Friday.
Police have received three reports of prowlers in a neighborhood, specifically McCollum Street, near Cal Poly over the last several months, according to the tweet.
The department said it “strongly urges” residents to lock doors and windows during the day and night, use motion lighting and install home security cameras to help deter criminal behavior.
Anyone who sees or experiences suspicious activity at their home is asked to call 9-1-1 for emergencies and 805-781-7312 for non-emergencies.
