SLO County Sheriff’s Office investigating report of shots fired in Paso Robles

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of shots fired in a Paso Robles neighborhood Wednesday evening.

According to a news release Wednesday evening, sheriff’s deputies received information from multiple witnesses of where shots may have been fired when they arrived at the 200 block of Fourth Street around 5 p.m.

When deputies tried to contact the residents at one location, a man retreated into his home and refused to exit, according to the release.

The man and his wife eventually came out of the home and were briefly detained, according to the release.

Deputies were unable to determine the original source of the shots, and do not have any suspects in the incident.

An investigation is ongoing to determine if any crime occurred.
