Grover Beach man arrested on suspicion of felony identity theft

The Arroyo Grande Police Department arrested a Grover Beach man on Wednesday for suspicion of identity theft.

Officers served a search warrant at a home in the 400 block of South Fourth Street in Grover Beach as part of an identity theft investigation, according to a police news release.

During the search, officers located evidence of identity theft and stolen property, according to Arroyo Grande police.

Investigators arrested 51-year-old Cristobal Lopez, the release said.

Lopez was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on a felony count of unauthorized use of a personal ID to obtain credit. His bail was set at $20,000, according to jail booking logs.

Jail booking logs list Lopez as 50-year-old Christobal Hernandez Lopez Jr.

The Arroyo Grande Police Department was assisted by officers from the Grover Beach Police Department, the release said.
