Update: Missing Santa Maria woman found, police say

Update, Tuesday 5 p.m.:

Juana Lopez Bautista, 23, was found Monday night by Santa Maria police officers after being reported missing Sunday.

According to the Santa Maria Police Department, Lopez Bautista was found around 10 p.m. Monday.

She had voluntarily left the area, according to police.

The Santa Maria Police Department is searching for a missing woman whose car was found abandoned near a Santa Maria park.

Juana Lopez Bautista, 23, was last seen Sunday around 8 a.m., according to a police news release.

She reportedly went to do laundry at The Laundry Room, located at 600 N. Broadway Street, at around 11 am. Sunday, before going to a local grocery store, the release said.

Lopez Bautista’s vehicle, a 2001 Kia Sportage SUV, was found abandoned near Jim May Park, located at 809 Stanford Drive, around 7 p.m. Sunday, police said.

According to the release, family members and police have not been able to contact Lopez Bautista by phone. Her family told police that it is uncharacteristic of her to not respond.

Lopez Bautista is considered to be “Missing — At Risk” because she has not ran away or disappeared in the past.
