3 arrested and minor cited on burglary and stolen vehicle charges, Paso Robles police say
Three people were arrested and a minor was cited on suspicion of car theft Saturday, Paso Robles police say.
Police received reports of a attempted burglary around 5 a.m. Saturday when a Paso Robles resident heard his garage door opening and saw a man trying to get into his car, according to a news release.
The man was seen getting into the passenger seat of a black Ford Edge with a juvenile in the back seat. Police said they found the car and conducted a traffic stop, but the car sped off as the officer approached.
Police found the car again on a residential street and saw the suspects fleeing on foot. The getaway vehicle was reportedly stolen out of Shafter and the license plates were stolen from another vehicle in Paso Robles, according to police.
The three seen leaving the car were caught and arrested a few hours later, according to the release. Upon their arrest, police discovered their was a fourth suspect involved. He was later found at a Walmart.
Ricardo Magana, 26, and Christina Rogers, 24, were arrested and booked into San Luis Obispo County jail around 2 p.m. Saturday on charges of burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and evading police. The minor, a 16-year-old, was cited and released to family, according to the release. The fourth suspect, Joel Nunez, 26, was arrested, but his charges weren’t explained in the release.
Police said they are investigating whether or not the suspects were involved with prior theft reports.
