Somebody slashed tires on 16 cars in SLO. Now police need your help finding who

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is looking for information on a late-night tire slashing spree that occurred in the city Friday.

According to a news release, police responded to the 900 block of Johnson Avenue around 8:15 am. on Saturday to a report of vandalism. Police found multiple cars had their tires punctured with an unknown object and the top of a recently planted tree was broken off, according to the release.

In total, police found the tires on 16 cars had been slashed, and one motorcycle pushed over. All of the damages occurred in a residential area of Johnson Avenue, Palm Street, Pepper Street and Mill Street.

Officers were unable to locate any evidence or surveillance video that would aid in the investigation, so now they are asking anyone who witnessed the crime or has information to contact the San Luis Obispo Police Department at 805-594-8038.
