Police search for suspect in armed robbery at Paso Robles gas station

A man armed with a semiautomatic handgun robbed a gas station in Paso Robles Wednesday night, police say.

Officers with the Paso Robles Police Department were called to the Spirit Gas Station at 1637 Spring St. around 10:30 p.m.

There, they learned that a man walked in with a gun, demanded money from the cash register, then waited outside for several minutes before fleeing on foot westbound toward Oak St., according to a news release issued Thursday morning.

The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, blue jeans, and had a dark bandanna covering his face, police said.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to call the department at 805-237-6464.
