SLO County convenience store robbed at gunpoint, sheriff says

The Oceano Market convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses told authorities that a man entered the store at 1711 Front St. at approximately 8:50 a.m., approached the clerk and demanded money while brandishing a handgun, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The suspect then made off with an undisclosed amount of money, the release said. No one was hurt in the incident.

The man was seen getting into into a mid-sized white Honda coupe driven by another man, the Sheriff’s Office said. The car was last seen traveling south towards Los Berros Road, the agency said.

The robber is described as a Hispanic male wearing blue or black clothing and sunglasses, the Sheriff’s Office said. No description was available for the car’s driver.

No one had been detained as of Monday morning and the investigation is ongoing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
