Police search for teens who beat, robbed 2 people in Morro Bay

Morro Bay police are searching for three male teens who allegedly beat and stole wallets from two people sitting in a parked car Friday evening.

According to a news release, two males reported they were robbed at 5:50 p.m. while seated in their vehicle in a parking lot in the 700 block of Quintana Road.

The men said they were accosted by three unknown males who appeared to be between the ages of 16 and 19.

According to the release, two of the teens began hitting the vehicle passenger, while the third confronted the driver as he attempted to exit the vehicle.

One of the teens showed the driver a silver and black handgun in his waistband and demanded the driver’s wallet. When he did not comply, the suspect entered the vehicle and took the driver’s cellphone. The other two continued to hit the passenger before taking his wallet and watch.

All three teens then fled the area on foot, police say.

Morro Bay police are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact the department and speak with Detective Mark Martin, 805-772-6233, or Detective Gene Stuart, 805-772-6229.
