Suspected DUI crash in SLO leads to arrest
A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash Saturday evening in San Luis Obispo.
About 6:20 p.m., police responded to a crash at South Higuera Street and Los Osos Valley Road, according to a news release.
According to police, 46-year-old Michael Saffell was northbound on Higuera when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a vehicle going south on Higuera.
One person received minor injuries as a result of the crash, police said.
Authorities evaluated both drivers and found evidence that Saffell was driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and taken to the County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $100,000, police said.
