A Santa Margarita man faces multiple felony counts alleging he uploaded child pornography using a file-sharing program.

Brent Edward Walsworth, 37, is charged with six felony counts of possession and transmission of child pornography, each of which carries a maximum of three years in state prison if he is convicted. He was arrested by the Arroyo Grande Police Department and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on July 13.

In a report accompanying the complaint, an Arroyo Grande police officer wrote that he encountered Walsworth sharing child pornography on a file-sharing network. When police searched a computer allegedly belonging to Walsworth, they found matching file names, according to the report.

In an interview with police, Walsworth allegedly said he was preparing to visit Thailand, prompting police to seek a no-bail warrant.

However, Walworth is out of custody on $90,000 bail.
