Safe and sane fireworks stands are set up on K Street next to Dos Hermanos Restaurant by the San Miguel Lions Club and downtown next to the community services district/fire department building by the San Miguel Fire Department volunteers. They will open Friday. These are the only fireworks that may be legally set off in San Miguel. Everyone, everywhere, please be careful because it is so dry.

Fire Department seeks volunteers

The San Miguel Fire Department is recruiting volunteers to join them in protecting homes and businesses in the San Miguel area. Excellent training is provided. Information and forms are available at www.discoversanmiguel.com or by contacting fire Chief Rob Roberson or assistant fire Chief Kelly Dodds at the community services district office in downtown San Miguel.

Chamber to host annual mixer

The San Miguel Chamber of Commerce will host this year’s North County Chamber Mixer, which includes chambers from Paso Robles, Templeton and Atascadero. The mixer will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 14 in the ballrooms of The Vines RV Resort at Wellsona Road and Highway 101 between San Miguel and Paso Robles. The event is an evening of connecting, revisiting and networking for North County businesses. Refreshments will be served, and there will be drawings for door prizes.
