Meistersingers will perform a concert at Mission San Miguel featuring music from the Spanish colonial and California mission periods at 6 p.m. Friday. The professional and premier singing group of volunteers was formed in Orange County in 2000 to provide quality choral music to communities. Their nonprofit organization also sponsors composition competitions and awards scholarships. A free-will offering is appreciated.

Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., Father Larry Gosselin OFM will hold a book signing at Locatelli Winery, 8585 Cross Country Road (just east of San Miguel). In his newest book, “I have been Waiting for You — A personal and spiritual journey with St. Teresa of Kolkata,” Father Larry writes of his experiences working with Mother Teresa in Calcutta ministering to the poor and dying. He is a former pastor and guardian at Mission San Miguel and is assistant pastor at Mission Santa Barbara.
San Miguel Seniors’ Bingo starts at 6 p.m. Friday at the Senior Center, 601 12th St. (east side of town off of N Street). All are welcome to enjoy playing the games, refreshments and fun. The monthly Senior Pancake Breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. this Sunday at the center.
The swimming pool in the park will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Lifeguards are needed to keep the pool open. To apply, call Parks Operations Coordinator Stacey King at 781-4385 or access the parks department through the SLO County homepage online.
