San Miguel events this week: Children’s Choir at the Mission and more

The San Miguel School Board meets Thursday evening at Lillian Larsen School at 1601 L St. Open session begins at 6:30. The agenda includes a public hearing on the 2016-17 budget and related financial items.

Children’s Choir

At 7 p.m. Friday, the Central Coast Children’s Choir will present “Sing, Come What May” at Mission San Miguel, featuring the Concert Choir and the Advanced Vocal Ensemble.

Car show at the Adobe

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Friends of the Adobes presents its annual car show at the Rios-Caledonia Adobe at 700 Mission St. Model A, Model T and early V-8 automobiles will be displayed on the section of original Highway 101 through the adobe grounds. There will be food and drinks for sale, live music, wine tasting and a 50/50 drawing.

Thanks to a Boy Scout

At the San Miguel Advisory Council meeting on May 25, Boy Scout Jacob Cagliero was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from Supervisor Frank Mecham by legislative aide Vicky Fogelman. For his Eagle project, Scout Cagliero built a base and frame for the History Group kiosk in Father Reginald Park next to the Mission.

New taco restaurant

The grand opening of Taco Mafia at 340 14th St. (former Dos Padres restaurant location) will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday, with music beginning at 4 p.m.
