RSVP to ‘Dinner Party’ at the Pewter Plough
Viv Goff will direct the Pewter Plough Playhouse production of Neil Simon’s comedy “The Dinner Party,” which will run from March 4 to April 3 at the playhouse.
The cast features Toni Young, Beth Marshall, Joyce Calderone, Mike Shanley, Gene Strohl and George Garrigues.
“The Dinner Party,” a one-act comedy about marriage and divorce, opened in 1999 in Los Angeles and ran on Broadway for a year beginning in October 2000. It is Simon’s 31st play. It focuses on three divorced couples who respond to RSVPs for a dinner in a private dining room at a top Paris restaurant.
The play opens with a preview performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 4 (tickets $17), followed by a gala champagne opening at the same time Saturday, March 5. Tickets for the gala are $30 and include admission to an after-show party featuring champagne, desserts and music by pianist Dave Manion.
Regular performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with 3 p.m. matinees on Sundays. Performance dates are March 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 and April 1, 2 and 3.
Tickets for regular performances are $22 or $17 for students with IDs, with a 10 percent discount for groups of 10 or more who pay with a single payment in advance.
