Book signing, concert planned at Coalesce
Coalesce Bookstore in Morro Bay is planning back-to-back events on the first weekend of March.
On Saturday, March 5, San Luis Obispo neurosurgeon Dr. Harold D. Segal will sign copies of his book “Medical Mafioso” from 2 to 4 p.m.
Segal’s 92-page book examines what happens when a young neurosurgeon finds himself in the middle of a malpractice suit brought be a vicious attorney. The plot involves insurance executives, a private detective, a politician, former government operatives and a strange twist.
The following evening, March 6, will feature another in the SLOfolks concert series, with the veteran Scottish group Old Blind Dogs taking the stage. The band, formed in 1990, plays a mixture of Scottish folk and Celtic music, with influences ranging from rock, reggae and blues to jazz and Middle Eastern rhythms.
Old Blind Dogs were named Folk Band of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards in 2004 and again in 2007.
The special Sunday concert begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $20.
Coalesce Bookstore is at 845 Main St. in Morro Bay.
