Art show judge calls ‘Hwy 46’ ‘bold, joyous, rhythmical’
Loretta Novak won the grand-prize for her oil painting “Hwy 46” in Allied Arts annual juried exhibit.
Juror Sally Tippman described the painting as a “bold, joyous, rhythmical landscape” when winners were announced April 5 at the Cambria Center for the Arts.
Other prize winners were: Kathy Miller, first; Rosemary Pisciotta, second; and Bruce Marchese, third.
Art Van Rhyn received the Audrey Coglin Award while Sandi Heller, Sue Johnson, Philip Colaprete and Kathi Rippe earned honorable mentions.
The exhibit continues through May 5 at 1350 Main St. The gallery is open 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday and Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
