Tickets are on sale for Pacific Wildlife Care’s sixth annual Soupabration!

The fundraiser for Pacific Wildlife Care, themed this year as “A World of Soup,” is set for Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Morro Bay Community Center. Charmaine Coimbra of Cambria is the event co-coordinator.

Soups from Peru, Thailand, Japan, Italy and Morocco will be featured, with actor Robin Atkin Downes serving as the emcee.

Downes has appeared on screen in TV productions including “Babylon 5,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “CSI: Miami” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.” He has also done numerous voice acting roles in film, television and video games.

As for the soups, a dozen chefs and restaurants from Paso Robles, San Simeon, Cambria, Morro Bay, Los Osos and San Luis Obispo have entered soups. Meanwhile, six Central Coast wineries will pour wine tastings.

The fundraiser will include a holiday market, live and silent auctions, entertainment and Pacific Wildlife Care’s Wildlife Ambassadors. Among them: Buddy, a red-tailed hawk blind in one eye; Misty, a western screech owl; Jack, a Merlin falcon; Oberon, a long-eared owl; and Corax, a common raven.

Tickets, priced at $50 to $65, are available online at www.soupabration.org or by calling 805-927-3357.

Pacific Wildlife Care, with treatment and rehabilitation facilities in Morro Bay, provides wildlife rescue throughout San Luis Obispo County. In 2015, PWC took in nearly 3,000 injured or ill wild birds, mammals and reptiles. It is the only facility in the county with a wildlife veterinarian.
