Strolling around the hilltop grounds of Hearst Castle, dancing, live music, wine, food and auctions will be the centerpieces for the popular Friends of Hearst Castle (FHC) sunset event, “Twilight on the Terrace,” which starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4.
Tickets ($125 for FHC members, $200 for nonmembers) were still available at press deadline, and they cover all of the above and more. The event takes place on terraces of the former estate of wealthy, eccentric media magnate William Randolph Hearst. The compound is now a state historical monument and accredited museum.
At the Twilight event, a silent auction will include more than 60 items, including vacation stays, theater, wines, chocolate, home décor, behind-the-scenes tours of the Julia Morgan Special Collection at Cal Poly’s Kennedy Library and prizes that carry the magic names of Disneyland, The Getty, Los Angeles Dodgers, Angel Island and, of course, Hearst Castle.
Dozens of area vendors will provide food, locally produced wines and beer.
An interactive photo booth allows attendees to star in and capture priceless keepsake photos at the lavish estate, pictures that can be quickly uploaded to social media.
The FHC event raises funds to help continue the nonprofit’s mission to conserve Hearst Castle and its priceless artworks and artifacts.
