Cambria art stroll adds music to the mix

Cambria’s next monthly Art Stroll will be Saturday, May 7, and the event has been adding a musical flavor of late. The April installment featured the duo Simple Pleasures serenading art lovers as they strolled down Main Street at Patrick Dennis’ Working Artist Studio.

The First Saturdays Art Stroll began in November as a joint endeavor of local artists and the Cambria Chamber of Commerce. Local residents and visitors are invited to stop in galleries, shops and restaurants to visit with local artists. A variety of art is on display, including paintings, sculpture, glasswork, jewelry and wearable art.

Simple Pleasures is the musical duo of Ames and Mary Anne Anderson.

“We enjoy playing for art lovers,” Anderson said. “Paintings and music complement each other — creating dreams for the eyes and the ears.”

The Andersons play a variety of tunes on nine instruments, from Hawaiian to Calypso with some love songs thrown in.

Participating stops in the Art Stroll are on Main, Burton and Bridge streets. Details:
