Musical petting zoo at Cambria Library
A musical petting zoo at the Cambria Library from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16? That takes some explaining.
Most kids love petting zoos, where they can meet, greet and pet animals, including some the youngsters have never seen before.
Just as true: Many children enjoy trying to make music by blowing through, plucking, squeezing or drawing a bow across an instrument, even one they’ve never played before.
That’s the premise behind the San Luis Obispo Symphony’s “Musical Petting Zoo,” a “getting to know you” session with instruments.
Well-loved (and well-used) trombones, trumpets, violins and even an accordion can be found buzzing, squawking and howling during the hour-long “petting zoo.” Fun to do, and fun to watch.
The music petting zoo will set up shop from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Cambria Library, 1043 Main St.
All ages are welcome. For details, call 927-4336.
