Enchilada, chicken wings fundraisers set for Hume Lake trip, Scouts

The American Legion Post 432 is hosting an enchilada dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 31 to help send local teenagers to Hume Lake.

The dinner will be at American Legion Club 432, at the rear of the Cambria Veterans Memorial Building. The price is $15, and plates can be prepared to eat on site or as take-out.

David Lange, youth minister at Cambria Presbyterian Church, is coordinating the trip, which is open to all Cambria teens. The dinner, prepared by American Legion Auxiliary Member Glenda McHaffie, will help cover transportation and other costs associated with the trip, to ensure no teen will be left out. The trip is for middle school and high school age students, and the trip will take place in February.

Tickets may be purchased at the church office during the week, from any student attending Hume Lake, or in the church fellowship hall about 11 a.m. Sunday, after services.

Surplus money raised will be used for the youth ministry in Cambria.

For more information, contact Cambria Presbyterian Church at 927-4356 or www.cambriapres.org/index.php.

Meanwhile, Cambria’s Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts are planning their annual Super Bowl chicken wing fundraiser.

The Scouts will be selling Linn’s Restaurant chicken wings and half chickens at the Veterans Memorial Building, 1000 Main St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. before the Super Bowl, on Sunday, Feb. 7.

Pre-order through local Scouts, or by calling Bob Kasper at 909-9707.
