Cambria residents can learn how to protect against wildfire
At a special presentation at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, Bob Putney, former chief of Cambria Fire Department, will share ways that North Coast residents and others can protect themselves and their families from fires.
The presentation will be at Community Presbyterian Church, 2250 Yorkshire Drive.
Topics during Putney’s talk will include how to protect a home and property before and during a fire; guidelines for evacuation and safe refuge; dangerous areas in which to take shelter; reading the danger signs; fire-growth patterns; how weather and topography influence a fire; and understanding what fuels a blaze.
Also, Roberta Vitols, a participant in the Cambria Fire Safe Focus Group, will present “Ready-Set-Go” details for pet owners.
