Is Cambria Christmas Market canceled? Here’s what to expect this holiday season
No, Virginia, there won’t be a Cambria Christmas Market for the public in 2020.
According to the Cambria Pines Lodge, COVID-19 concerns and coronavirus restrictions mean that only guests staying at one of three Moonstone Hotel properties will be able to view a newly redesigned holiday light display, The Lights at Cambria Pines.
Only guests staying overnight at Cambria Pines Lodge, J. Patrick House and Sea Otter Inn — specifically, those are booked on a Christmas package from Nov. 27 to Jan. 2 —will be able to access the light show, according to a Friday news release. The display will be closed Dec. 24 and 25.
Guests must book directly through the hotels, either by calling 800-966-6490 or online via www.cambriapineslodge.com, not a third-party site.
No tickets will be sold for the Lights at Cambria Pines event, and it won’t be available to members of the general public who are not staying in one of those hotels during that period through the Christmas package.
The light show “will still incorporate many of the beloved displays” from previous Christmas markets, the release said.
However, it will be “drastically different to ensure safety,” with measures including limiting the number of people with access to the lights, a new, one-way path route and increased sanitation procedures, the release said.
There will still be more than 2 million lights in the show, but they’ll be displayed in a smaller footprint, according to the release.
The Cambria Christmas Market plans to return in its usual form in 2021. For details, go to www.cambriachristmasmarket.com.
