Author Pavlik headlines annual Cambria Historical Society banquet
Bob Pavlik will be the featured speaker at the Cambria Historical Society’s Recognitions Banquet on Sunday, Feb. 11 at Cambria Pines Lodge. Now is tje absolute deadline for reservations, so call Penny Church at 805-927-1442.
Pavlik is a published author, poet and accomplished state historian who will speak on “The Life and Times of Russ Leadabrand: Folklorist, Historian, and Journalist.” (Leadabrand was a prolific author and travel writer who was active in the Pasadena area and relocated to Cambria in 1985.)
The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a no-host bar and social, dinner at 6, and Pavlik to speak about 7. Dinner choices, at $40 per person include prime rib, macademia encrusted halibut and gluten-free vegetarian lasagna.
Guests will also be able to purchase prints of the authentic rendering of the sinking of the Montebello, painted by local artist Tom Gould.
