Cambria resident Jim Ragan receives grand jury recognition

Cambria resident Jim Ragan received the Angelo Rolando Memorial Award from the California Grand Jurors’ Association in recognition for his outstanding service.

The award, announced this month in Sacramento, is awarded annually.

According to a news release from the association, Ragan served on the 2002-03 San Luis Obispo County grand jury, which marked the beginning of his service to the San Luis Obispo County chapter of the association, later serving as chapter president for two years.

Ragan currently serves on the Board of Directors of CGJA, Chairs the Public Relations Committee, is the association’s corporate secretary and a valued member of the CGJA Training Committee.

The association is a statewide nonprofit organization of former grand jurors dedicated to promoting government accountability by improving the training and resources available to California’s 58 regular grand juries and educating the public about the substantial local government oversight and reporting powers those grand juries have.
