Large-trash collection days planned in Cambria for Sept. 19-23
During Mission Country Disposal’s free autumn cleanup days Sept. 19 through 23, Cambria residential customers can discard more garbage, recycling and greenwaste on their regular trash days.
Up to two bulkier items also can be picked up for a small fee, but for those, advance arrangements must be made at least one week in advance.
Each customer can set out at the curb up to 12 bundles, bags and/or containers of discards, which can be mixed and matched in separate containers. They should be set out in a manner that doesn’t block the usual waste wheelers.
All items, including waste-wheelers, must be at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on the regular trash day.
The semiannual cleanup services are free, but a small fee will be levied for hauling away bulkier items. Overly large items requiring two men to handle them will cost more.
For details or arrange for big-item pickup, call 805-543-0875 at least one week before the regular collection day to describe the larger, more cumbersome items (appliances, couches, televisions, water heaters, mattresses, etc.), so a separate, properly equipped truck can be dispatched.
No hazardous waste will be collected. No plastic or plastic bags should be included with recycling or greenwaste.
Place excess garbage in tied bundles, 33-gallon trash cans or similarly sized containers. Each cannot weigh more than 75 pounds; bundles and boxes must be no more than 4 feet long.
