Outdoor Sportsman Group networks (Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network) and Charter Communications recently teamed up to host a Hunt.Fish.Feed. luncheon to feed the hungry. The national campaign is designed to educate the public about how natural resources can help combat hunger.
The campaign, which hosts an annual tour to different cities, came to the Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter with a menu of venison chili, tortillas, fruit and a garden salad to feed the homeless.
Scott Leysath, executive chef and star of The Sporting Chef on the Sportsman Channel; San Luis Obispo Mayor Jan Marx; SLO Police Chief Deanna Cantrell; SLO County Sheriff Ian Parkinson; SLO Fire Chief Garrett Olsen; county Supervisor Debbie Arnold; and SLO Vice Mayor Dan Carpenter were on hand to help serve at the event.
