Wilshire Hospice recently hosted its annual Dazzling Diamond Ball fundraiser, made possible by presenting sponsor Marshalls Jewelers.
The event raised about $100,000 for Wilshire’s programs.
In addition to entertainment and an auction, an awards ceremony was held to honor three individuals for their generous support and volunteerism, along with a health care provider for its outstanding partnership with Wilshire Hospice.
Compass Health received the award for Health Care Provider of the Year; Jim and Debi Saunders received the award for Philanthropists of the Year; and Sally Young was honored as Volunteer of the Year.
Atascadero
Central Coast Link (the LINK) has received an $8,000 grant from The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County.
The grant will be used for new online client database management software.
The database will help analyze information regarding program efficacy, client satisfaction and trends in service demand.
The LINK supports children, youth and families by providing services and linking recourses for community members in need or crisis.
Nipomo
The Nipomo Lions Club recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
According to club spokesman Bob McGill, the club now has 50 active members, and has raised and donated more than $200,000 for the community since 2006.
