Members of the Alpha Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International recently awarded Katie Fraser with an Early Career Educator Penne Ferrell Grant of $150.

Fraser, a fifth-grade teacher at Vineyard Elementary School in Templeton, plans to use the funds to purchase new books for her classroom library.

SLO County

CenCal Health recently partnered with the Senior Nutrition Program of San Luis Obispo County to support meal delivery service for seniors, enabling the organization to provide 36,500 meals to 100 seniors in 2016, according to a news release from CenCal Health.

The Senior Nutrition Program prepares approximately 600 free, hot and nutritious meals five days a week for homebound delivery or to be served in one of 10 dining sites in the county.

In addition, volunteers personally visit homebound clients, offering social contact and emergency assistance when necessary.
