McDonald’s recently gave a sponsorship donation of $1,500 to the Boys & Girls Club of South San Luis Obispo County. The donation will help support the club’s upcoming gala, Starry Skies and Fireflies, which is scheduled for March 19.

“We appreciate the generous support from Deborah and Keith Handley of McDonald’s. Their support improves the programs offered at the Teen Center,” said Beth Raub, executive director of the club.

SLO County

PG&E recently joined the Boy Scouts of America Los Padres Council to host a new merit badge event for more than 40 local Boy Scouts to learn about nuclear science and earn a nuclear science badge.

The company plans to host the events throughout the year at PG&E’s Energy Education Center and offer scouts a broad range of topics, using hands-on activities and games.
