Good news about the Rotary Club of SLO and the Children’s Resource Network

San Luis Obispo

Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo recently hosted a meal-packaging event in collaboration with Stop Hunger Now, an organization dedicated to end world hunger.

A team of volunteers packaged the meals consisting of a combination of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix that includes 23 essential vitamins and minerals. Each meal costs 29 cents to be packaged and shipped.

The meals will be distributed by Stop Hunger Now and partner organizations to developing countries around the world.

Central Coast

Through the generous support of foundations, businesses, law enforcement, government officials, community organizations and volunteers, the Children’s Resource Network of the Central Coast has reported another year of major growth.

The organization provided resources for 9,726 children and teens, with 1,023 receiving gifts and toys during its Christmas and holiday giveaways.

In addition, the nonprofit group has opened four new program locations on the Central Coast.
