Good news about the SLO Elks Lodge, Lambda Sigma Gamma and Performance Athletics Gymnastics

San Luis Obispo

Members of the San Luis Obispo Elks Lodge recently provided more than $16,000 in gifts and donations to three families from Camp San Luis Obispo, local veterans and veterans in the rehab unit at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Fresno.

A total of $513.34 in holiday gifts, toys and food were given to the three families, which included seven children, stationed at Camp SLO.

A total of $14,000 was collected and delivered to the VA hospital. Each patient received sweatsuits, goody bags and Christmas cards. Additional items donated included toiletries, books, reading glasses, handmade blankets and hats, socks and games.

Donations totaling more than $1,612 were also made to the VA Clinic and Veterans Center in San Luis Obispo.

Cal Poly

Eleven Cal Poly students from Lambda Sigma Gamma sorority recently volunteered their time to help decorate for a Christmas party at Meade Canine Rescue and Sanctuary in Creston. All pitched in to help with the festivities and visit with the senior dogs.
