Family Care Network has received a $90,000 grant for its Youth Employability Support Program from The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County’s Youth Empowerment Fund.
The grant will be used to provide hands-on instruction and coaching for 250 transitional youths ages 16 to18 with career and employment potential. The program aims to build character, determination, motivation and strong values through adult role models and community-linked interactions not otherwise available to them.

The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association has announced the winners of its annual Holiday Window Decorating Contest for the 2015 season.
The organization gives honors to first-, second- and third-place displays as well as Best in Theme (“There’s No Place like SLO”); there was also a competition held online for the People’s Choice award.
The winners are:
▪ Third place: EcoBambino
▪ Second place: Jules D.
▪ First place: Bluebird Salon
▪ Best in Theme: HumanKind Fair Trade
▪ People’s Choice: Assistance League Thrift Store
