Templeton

Nine-year-old Linnea Bernal submitted the winning entry in the Templeton Recreation Department’s eighth annual Turkey Trot Fun Run logo contest. Her colorful drawing was used as the logo on race T-shirts for the recent fun run held in Templeton.

Linnea, who is a third-grader at Vineyard Elementary School, created her logo at an after-school art class at the Templeton Recreation Department.

San Luis Obispo

The Central Coast Realtors Charitable Foundation has raised more than $9,000, which benefited three local charities and San Luis Obispo High School students.

The funds were raised at the San Luis Obispo Association of Realtors’ sixth annual Benefit Golf Tournament recently held at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. The event hosted 145 participants.

Through donations from Realtors, affiliates and community members, San Luis Obispo High School students received scholarships of $500, and the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County, Family Care Network and Escuela del Rio were awarded more than $2,375 each.
