Good News for Transitions-Mental Health Association and French Hospital Medical Center

The Harold J. Miossi Charitable Trust recently granted $46,000 to the French Hospital Medical Center Foundation, which will support five therapeutic art installations in the new healing garden at the hospital in San Luis Obispo.

The specially-designed art pieces — built to add therapeutic and restorative qualities to the garden space — include stone water columns, a living wall, reflection walls, a labyrinth, and a gentle movement art piece.

Transitions-Mental Health Association has received a $2,000 grant from the Janssen Foundation Youth & Youth Sports Fund, a partnership with The Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County. The grant will be used for the residents in the Youth Treatment Program to help build personal skills, while emphasizing the value of teamwork and cooperation.

In addition, the King David’s Lodge of San Luis Obispo matched the grant with $1,500.
