The Foundation for San Luis Obispo County Public Libraries was recently awarded $10,100 from the Barbara Baltimore Library Endowment to fund three projects in the 2014-15 fiscal year.
The Cayucos Library received a grant to purchase two Chromebooks for Cayucos Elementary School students and patio furniture to provide outside seating.
The Nipomo Library also received grant funds to purchase two Chromebooks and an AWE AfterSchool Edge computer designed for children ages 6-12 to provide homework assistance.

The Santa Margarita Library received funds to purchase a self-checkout station, allowing librarian Debra Leal more time to offer one-on-one assistance to library patrons.
South County
Phillips 66 Santa Maria Refinery recently donated $25,000 to fund children’s programs at the Dunes Center in Guadalupe.
The donation will go to funding the creation of the second edition of “The Dune Forum: The Amazing Nature of the Dunes,” written and designed by local students.
