San Luis Obispo

Hope’s Village of San Luis Obispo has received a $500 donation from the Central Coast Women’s League for the village’s Showers of Hope program.

This mobile shower program recently completed three months of providing showers for San Luis Obispo homeless people who have no other access.

Thanks to volunteers and donors, in addition to showers, they’ve given haircuts, sleeping bags and backpacks, warm clothing, new underwear and socks.

Atascadero

Heart to Heart Real Estate recently hosted an event called “We Make Giving Easy,” where more than $23,000 from sales commissions was raised to benefit local nonprofits. The organizations that benefited from the fundraiser are Camp Fire Central Coast, Woods Humane Society, Central Coast Autism Spectrum Center, The Wellness Kitchen of Templeton, Stand Strong, Alzheimer’s Association of the Central Coast and Hospice of San Luis Obispo.

Clients who choose to work with Heart to Heart are part of a local movement to give back to charitable organizations and causes in San Luis Obispo County and beyond. Founders Mark McConnell and Liz Lee aim to donate 50% of their agency’s commissions from real estate sales to noteworthy causes designated by the client.

Heart to Heart has donated more than $550,000 to more than 50 nonprofits in the past four years.
