Local League of Women Voters leading efforts to register teens to vote
San Luis Obispo County
Former San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder and current League of Women Voters board member Julie Rodewald is leading teams of league members who are registering new voters at local high schools. Sixteen- and 17-year-olds can preregister.
So far, league teams have presented voter education and early-registration opportunities at high schools in San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Paso Robles, Templeton and Nipomo. The program will continue until the primary election in June 2018, and it will be expanded to other high schools and Cuesta College.

San Miguel
The San Luis Obispo County YMCA recently received a grant of $44,220 from the Hughes Charitable Foundation to help underserved youths from San Miguel participate in the Y afterschool care and day-camp programs at Centennial Park in Paso Robles.
