San Luis Obispo Bicycle Club recently donated $20,000 to Bike SLO County. The donation supports Bike SLO’s advocacy efforts and its bicycle safety and education classes — especially for elementary-age students. It also supports a new program to make SLO County residents aware of the dangers of distracted driving.

The SLO Bicycle Club plans and hosts two large organized bicycle rides each year, a Wildflower Ride in April and a Lighthouse Ride in September. Proceeds from the two rides allowed the club to make a total donation of $35,000 to Bike SLO County this year.
