Paso Robles family raises $3,000 for juvenile diabetes research

Atasadero

The Dart family of Paso Robles presented a music recital at the Community Church of Atascadero to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. More than $3,000 dollars was raised to support Type 1 diabetes research.

Kristie and Emma Dart performed selections from Broadway shows. Kyle Dart played piano. Clarisse and Audrey Dart, along with their great aunt, Celia Bewley joined Debbie Lagomarsino in performing a two-piano quartet.

Kyle Dart was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 3 years old.

JDRF supports families living with Type 1 diabetes through educational resources, support groups, activities and research.

Paso Robles

American Legion Post 50, of Paso Robles, recently heard the Rev. Michael Cicinato speak about the post-traumatic stress disorder program called Healing Through Reckoning and Responsibility. HTRR is a nonprofit organization, staffed by volunteers and professionals who lead veterans with PTSD through a four-day journey that addresses long-needed reckoning between the veterans and civilians.

To support this cause, American Legion Post 50 has donated $600 to HTRR.

Morro Bay

The San Luis Obispo County Women’s Golf Championship recently was held at Morro Bay Golf Club. Sheri Hauck was the overall winner shooting a 77, 72 for a 149. Regina Neel was the net overall winner after a sudden death playoff against Janet Desarno. The tournament helps to promote and improve women’s golf and creates friendships among the women of San Luis Obispo County.
