Docents Toni Kincaid, Donn Clarius, Chris Oswald, Carol Whitaker and Marilyn Darnell from the historic Jack House in San Luis Obispo learned about the historic Dana Adobe first hand on a special tour by Dana Adobe docent Marina Washburn in an effort to enrich their knowledge of San Luis Obispo County history.
Dana Adobe docents then visited the Jack House where Howard Jack’s childhood memory of a visit to the adobe was revealed, linking the two families.

Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation has announced the appointment of two officers to its board of directors: Kathy Roinestad and Dr. Shefali Vatsa.
The Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation says it supports the charitable and community health care mission of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital through fundraising and relationship building. The foundation solicits philanthropic gifts, provides stewardship of these gifts, and grants funds to the hospital. Board members are responsible for facilitating these activities.
Roinestad is the office administrator at her husband’s construction business, Alan Roinestad Construction and Management. She has served on several nonprofit boards and community organizations.
Vatsa has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. She has worked in various agencies as a counseling intern with students and adults.
The foundation will also bid farewell to several board members who completed their tenure June 30. Outgoing board members include Fletcher Burton, Dan Cashier, Nancy DePue, Linda Fibich, Blanche Hollingsead, Juanita McMullen, Mary O’Connor and Dr. Jesse Wobrock.
